You have to work on it
User: lloyd smith, Feb 28, 2007
Pros:
Protects
Cons:
Weak clip, poor alignment of openings, weak latch
You have to M'Gyver it. The first one I purchased was used as a hack model. What could I do to make it a REALLY safe case?
I won't go into all the details, but I did remove the neoprent from the case bottom so the phone would slide down for better access to the front controls. I also used a Dremel and shaved off about 25% of the cross-bar. Added two industrial grade Velcro dots to back of phoine, and removed neoprene from the back of the case, so the vencro would line up — keeps the phone from falling out if the latch fails. Added a safety latch with a snap fitting. And I trashed the weak clip (makes the phone stick out too far anyway). I replaced with a clip from Radio Shack. Trimmed it. Drilled small hole. Used a #3 metric screw (had to rout some of the extended back cover for the screw, which extends in a bit too far). I also drilled a small hole in the bottom of the case, attached a small ring, and I use a heavy-duty badge holder on a retractable cord snapped to the ring so even if the whole thing falls off my belt, it will drop no more than a foot or so.
I now have probably the most secure case one can have, for use in security at an airport, and bumps, knocks, etc. will not harm the phone and it will not fall off.
I use a an iPod charger from BatteryGeeks so if both phone batteries run down, I can charge them on the run, never needing a power source.
Just ordered my third case...the silver finish is a bit fakey and I have been waiting for the black extended back version to be in stock.
QDepot sells merchandise for a fair price — no fake sales. A good place to shop.

Missing hole for screen dimmer photo sensor
User: Buster Irby, Jul 2, 2008
Pros:
Sturdy case, protects phone screen
Cons:
Missing photo dimmer hole, improper fit
As mentioned above, I had to remove most of the neoprene near the bottom of the case to get mine to fit. Once I did, I noticed that the screen was always dim when in the case. The I noticed that the screen has a photo sensor on the top right, but there was no hole in the case for the sensor. This made the sensor think that it was night time all the time and it dimmed the screen.
Not a Rhino Skin
User: Jeff Waggoner, Dec 13, 2006
Pros:
Protects well
Cons:
Start button and Contacts Button Barely Accessible
My aluminum hard case does what it says and works well. I like the screen protection it offers, but the start and contacts buttons are a little hard to access unless you have fingers like a 3 year old. The construction is a little less than desireable. The case doesn't fit just right when closed. Maybe I got a lemon. I do recommend the case for protection against rugged use though. I haven't found any that work as well. I have a Rhino Skin for my Axim and it still fits well and the PC looks like the day I bought it. Wish I could say the same for the case, but hey, that's what they are for huh? I'll keep looking for a Rhino Skin quality protective case. If you know of one, please post where I could get it. I'd pay a bit more for the higher level of quality.
Drop-kickability versus Accessability
User: Andrew Marshall, Jan 2, 2007
Pros:
Screen protection, looks good. Strong case.
Cons:
"Start" and "Contact" hard to get to. Weak clip.
Well, in all honesty, It's a good, strong case. It has a good screen protector and appropriate cut-outs for most of the controls. But it is hard to use the two soft keys.
Also, while you could throw the case, doing damage to whatever it hits and not the phone, the clip is utterly weak! Not only does it allow the phone to sway to and fro freely on your hip (in other words, it won't even stay in place) it breaks quite easily.
So really, it depends on what you REALLY need in a case. If you want to slip it in your pocket, go for it!If you want something you can throw in case you're attacked, go for it. If you want a clip and to be able to access the soft keys... you might look past this little wonder.
Broken Clip
User: Joe Customer, Jun 12, 2007
Pros:
Looks cool
Cons:
Clip sucks, and makes a light phone a little heavy...
I was pretty happy with the cover, until I dropped the case and clip getting out of my car and onto the garage floor. The clip broke to my suprise; so now I am hoping QDepot will furnish or assist me in getting a clip. Otherwise I paid $30 bucks for a "sturdy case" for a week and a half or is it "pretty weak service" I hope not.
I would advise you to get this based one fact: "it looks cool" but be careful on the clip that attaches to a belt.
Good Luck
